James is a son of Kentucky. He was born in London, raised in Lexington, went to college in Danville, attended law school in northern Kentucky, clerked in Bowling Green, worked in Frankfort for a decade, married a Georgetown girl, and he now lives in Lexington, but practices unemployment insurance law statewide.
James is an accomplished litigator. Having been in-house counsel for Kentucky's Unemployment Insurance program for nearly eight years, he has handled hundreds of unemployment insurance cases, from the administrative stage all the way to the Kentucky Supreme Court.
James is an Ambassador for Lexington Habitat for Humanity, a board member of the non-profit LEX History Tours Inc., and a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the Fayette County Bar Association.
